We had our second preparation meeting on 10/18/08 at Panera, where one table focused on plot, one on characters, and one on description, and then we mixed it up a bit. Details are available at our wiki page for the Oct 18th session
If you missed this, don’t worry. There’s still time to get ready for November 1st.
Our next prep sesssion is on Thursday, October 23, at 7:00 at Barnes & Noble. Details are available at our wiki page for the Oct 23rd session
Join a jabber chat this Monday, October 20th, at 8:00. If you do not have a Jabber account yet, send NaNoMail to NewMexicoKid and he will set you up with one. This online meeting will give everyone a chance to do some brief writing exercises to prepare for the November novel writing.
Don’t forget about the write-ins in November–Saturday afternoons (1-4 pm) at Warrenville City Hall, Sundays (1-4 pm) at the 95th Library in Naperville. At these write-ins, we basically write, each person working on their own novel, but doing so with the encouragement of other writers, and the stimulus of word wars (a word war is where you attempt to write as many words as possible within a time limit). It’s a great way to get your word count up and quiet down an internal editor.
There will also be virtual write-ins in our Jabber chatroom almost every evening in November.
