My specialty area of study is 13th and early 14th century English and German metalwork, though I have a fairly broad spread of times and cultures to draw from as well. Crossbows - I also build replica crossbows, again primarily 13-14th century. Fire - the science and physics of fire, heat and combustion. I design and build gas forge systems as well as flame effects for stage and screen. Music and live sound as well as studio recording. Currently I am the guitar player in a regional heavy rock act that uses a LOT of flame effects on stage as well as the lead tech for a dance performance troop that specializes in featuring fire dance. Much of my duties there also revolve around creating new music or mixing live sound in less than optimal conditions.
