So some of you may know that every year for the past few years, I've set up the 18k challenge (2011, 2013, 2014) that rewards those who commit to and achieve an average word count of 3000 words per day for the final six days of NaNoWriMo. It's a great way for folks who are behind to catch up.
This year at the TEDxNaperville Idea Lab Adventure, I learned that the 95th Street Library has a button maker that can be used by patrons. So I was thinking that perhaps I could use this for this year's 18k challenge prize.
My thought is to either do one sketch and make these buttons for the 18k challenge winners or, perhaps, to do a custom button for each winner.
What do you think? Post below if you are interested in the 18k challenge and also let me know your thoughts of what the reward button(s) should look like.

Yeah, I'm so in for that. I need the last minute boost anyway. What if we combine the 18K and the flaming keyboard together and put it on a gold back ground? Instant medal with a design. of course I know that it can be hard to get a lot of details into a small button. It would look amazing if you could make it though. by the way, does it count if I have to write three thousand from here on out anyway? LOL

Great idea Tim! Flaming keyboard is a good image. Don't know if the 18 K challenge will work for me. Can't stop thinking about the idea I came up with for next year. Must mean this year's is pretty lame. Carol
Sometimes it takes explorations to make an idea sing. Be careful of the grass is greener syndrome.
On the other hand, it still counts if you keep your word count and start on your other story, though it would mean that you're left with two unfinished novels. 50K in 30 days.

Of course it counts! :-) And it is an average of 3K/day--you could have one 10K day then split up the 8K for the other five...

I'm interested!
I want to suggest the buttons have buffalo flyswatters on them, but I'm only half serious. Maybe a flaming keyboard or just 18K or something?
I'm in. The flaming keyboard that Anobi said sounds awesome
I'd be in if I thought I could remotely hit those numbers.

The final six days don't work for me... unless I can write I can write 18k in two and a half days? Possible, but I don't want to count on it!
But: Maybe the pins could be made to look like medals for those who do it!

I've started sketching the flaming typewriter...
