I set a goal of 7000 on Wednesday night, and I just reached it. Truthfully, I should have set it at 15,000 but that was far too scary for me. But since I have written 7000 and it's early, I'm going to work on writing another 3000 by tomorrow night. I am learning that I can do higher word count if I plan to write just one hour. When I'm done, I'm pleased with the results. Then, the next time I sit down to write for an hour, I just pretend that is my only session of the day. If I say I'll write for 4 hours, not only is the quality piss poor, but I feel like I'm being punished for being behind... I know, super crazy process... Lol!
Keep on writing!

Whatever works is good.
Much to my dismay I shall not be able to reach my word count goal at the end of his nano. But all the same I am going to take on a pretty big challenge. By the end of nano I hope to have around 125K at the minimum. That means I need almost another 25K.... Oh gosh.
I still need 27K. And I'm worried about what I'm going to do if/when my second story runs out. I *could* go back to my original goal which was two first drafts and quit obsessing about this being my highest word count ever, and my vow that I won't ever try to get even close again, which means that this year I should really push. (I seem to say that every two years, but this year I really, really mean it.)
I don't know if this will work out or not since it'd be the most words I'd ever written in a day, but I'm going to try and get to 47k before I go to bed tomorrow. Gulp. We'll see!
I decided today that it is not too late; there is still a chance for me winning NaNo this year. I'm planning on hitting the 10k threshold tonight. If I plan on winning, I need to write 6,666 a day if I hit my 10k goal. So my goal for Sunday night is 16,666, but hopefully more to offset the possibility of all-nighters this week. Plus work. So...no more 8 hours of sleep for meeeeeee!
Off to get more caffeine! And sugar!
I want to have at least one 5000 word day this Nano. If I can do this once. I believe I can do it again. If I can do it twice, then catching up should be plausible.

I was always kind of scared by my mother's obsession with the 'good scissors.' It implied that somewhere in the house lurked... the evil scissors.

So, I just did some math, and if I'm going to hit my goal of 40k by tonight, I need to fill 31.5 pages of my notebook. Because apparently, I just fail at writing if I'm not at a write-in. Fortunately, there are two of them today. Of course, that means a couple hours of driving that won't be spent writing... but it's all for the greater good!
Focus on just that for today.
It's doable.
congrats to all for every word written so far. Good luck and keep writing!
I made my goal! It took all day, more or less, but I did it!
Started with lunch at Panera (~1k), the Naperville write-in (~4k), and finally the write-in at the Glen Ellyn Caribou (~2k)! I'm proud I made my goal, and this makes up for my not writing almost all week due to dealing with car problems and the holiday and the like. Yay!
Yay! I surpassed my goal by 1035 words putting me at 48,035. Tomorrow's goal. ... hit 50,000! I am so proud of myself!
I made it! :D

You made it, right? :D

Surpassed my goal by 1k, thanks to a 9k day. I really didn't think I was going to make it this morning, but somehow I did.
I filled more than enough pages, so I THINK I made it... but I don't have it all typed up yet and I NEED to get to bed. (Really should have been in bed an hour and a half ago, at least!) So I will finish typing it all tomorrow and adjust my word count retrospectively for whatever the result is.
Did you see how fabulous your chart looked?

Way cool!
Woot! And on for the win!
Should be very doable.
You should be proud.
Nice to surprise yourself at times. Hope to see you at Caribou tonight.
