since you're at 36,916, then your goal is 13,084 words.
Good luck!
Ok, I'll bite: 50K by the end of the weekend since, like Melissa, I will be unlikely to write much next week.
Note: I've spruced up the challenge table.
Thanks!
I'm at 33,800 now. I need Jabber chatters to word war with me! I will... have 50k. That's roughly 16k words, or 4k a day. I will be hanging out in front of the TV watching football, so I should be able to do it. I have an adorable little NaNoBot to cheer me on! Thanks, Tim!!
My goal is to add 15,000 words by Sunday night - that will bring me to about 60,000.
Thanks for the encouragement to help make this a push weekend.
Unfortunately I feel a cold coming on and that could hamper my writing.

WRITE EARLY; WRITE OFTEN!
I've been focused on being at 40k by the end of Saturday, to be right on pace for 50K by the end of the month. I'm concerned about talling behind on the big family get together days on Thursday and Saturday, so I trying to have a bit of a buffer by the end of tonight.
I then plan to add another 2K on Sunday to be at 42K by Sunday evening.
Dave, you're at 54K now. 54+15 should be 69K, no?

Thanks for the math check!!!!!
You're write - I guest I'm a little tired after taking my daughter to Midway this morning in the fog (we left at 5:50 AM) and a full day's work. Now that I've seen the light I can work on writing my additional words.

WRITE EARLY; WRITE OFTEN!
I am going to try to get to 43K by Sunday. I have been writing 3K a day for the best three days, and hope to keep on that roll over the next couple of days. I will be occupied on Saturday, so if I can do 3K on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, it should cover my lack of writing on Saturday.
45,000. Had a bit of a lull after the first week, but the pages are coming fast and furious now, the only thing that's been standing in my way is the day job, and my inability to pull all-nighters like I did in college. I've been able to push out about a thousand words an hour when I'm on a streak, so just need to find 18 hours over the next four days. Yeah, totally doable.
I REALLY wanted to hit 30k today, but apparently that wasn't in the cards. (Although maybe I could fake it, if I include the page of rules I brainstormed for my made-up sport... That's so very tempting.)
I'm currently at 29,672 words. I'm sick of being so far behind, and I REALLY don't want to have to write 10k on November 30th again this year. So my goal is to reach 40,000 by Sunday night. That's 10,328 words, which comes to 2,582 words per day.
I sincerely hope I can manage that. I'm REALLY sick of being so far behind.
You can totally include that. You may be surprised by how much of that writing will be used in the second draft. Not all at once, but as you're explaining the game (like two people watching it talking about it.) So go ahead and count the words.
I made up a game in a novel once. In fact, that's the prequel novel to the series I'm thinking of starting next NaNo--no, back off, idea, I have a novel to finish! (Next year's idea keeps trying to distract me this year but it has to wait its turn like a reasonable novel idea.) :)
He sent you one? (For those who don't know, Ky moved to Texas since last year's NaNoWriMo.)
Tim is amazing!
Good luck. I can be on jabber a good amount of Sunday if you need word wars.
Boy, do I know that feeling. I've been fascinated by the plot and character interactions for every book in this series... EXCEPT the first one, which kind of needs to happen NOW. So annoying.
My goal is to be at 41,675 words by Sunday night - if I've gotten the math right. I've fallen a bit behind & a minor hand injury (it'll be fine, but will probably leave a mark...) hasn't helped. So, I'm making strong coffee and digging in again.
Dang it! I'm staying at a hotel that is less than a mile from one of my favorite stores that opened at midnight.
I'm pretty sure that this: http://faces.naperwrimo.org/2012/naperchallenge.shtml
is the only thing stopping me from bopping over to see if there are any extreme sales this morning.
If I write another 500 words, I might just take a quick look. But, first, 500 more words.
:)
I have switched my reward from candy every time I finish 500 words to ten minutes of working on the planning documents for the next novel every time I finish 500 words. Better for the waistline, but man, that new book wants to take over...
I made my goal already...so I'm setting a new one! 50000 by Sunday night it is!

I'm hoping to have 10,000 written by Sunday, 5,000 a day, making my total word count a little over 50,000
I really hope I can do it~ I'm so nervous

I want to be at 40k by the end of Sunday. That's about 8.7k.

Anyone need a pep talk?
Or a song suggestion?
I'm currently listening to 'Run' by Snow Patrol.
And writing in the lobby of Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky Ohio where a long line of little kids with their parents are about to get pumped full of sugar (donuts) before screaming at the water park. Ah well, I'll be heading home.
And I am in front of a fireplace at the moment.
