As many may remember, each year I've issued a difficult (yet achievable!) 18K challenge. Average 3000 words per day for six straight days and you win a special prize...
This year, I've come up with an idea for the prize. I had fun crafting the gnomes and trolls I'm handing out as word war prizes. The overall NaNo theme is Victorian Steampunk; I can't do the intricate designs that that requires, but one symbol of knowledge and wisdom is the owl.
They're not fired yet, but here are the owls I am going to be giving the winners of the upcoming 18K challenge (always held in the final six days of the month):
What do you think? Interested? If so, keep an eye out for the 18K challenge thread!
Very nice, Tim!
I think I'll probably have to be in the 18K challenge just to finish on time this year! The middle of the month has been so busy for me.
Nice job! Those are adorable.
I can't wait for this challenge!
Thanks for your kind comments!
Made a few more:
There is only one penguin. The highest word count achiever will win it!
By the way, some folks at the all day write-in were wondering if we should shift the six day period to start a little before six days before the end. What do people think?
They're so cute. :)
i thought I missed the 18K...
Those are so cute!
I'm fine with starting it sooner.
Yay I love contests even if I always lose ;) Those are awesome little owls and I would not be opposed to starting early.
Sign me up. i have 2 days of teacher conferences, but this may kick me in the tail and give me an epic challenege. If it were after it would be easier for me, but either way I am in.
