I am a very competitive person. This year, competitiveness level is waayyyyyy up there. I've spent the entire day writing in an effort to be on top of the Naperwrimo wordcount graph.
As it stands right now- I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I really hate Katherine right now. :D

Buahaha! You may be ahead, now! But how much are you going to have to edit out later? XD

For those who think "I don't write enough to make it to the top spot, so competition isn't going to spur me on," please take a look at the current competition between CameronDaye and myself. J.A. Kosse blew past us on day two (I have hopes that Raskolnikov93 will soon challenge the top spot or someone else will join the graph that has a 1000 word lead on J.A. Kosse.) This morning, I actually debated if I should delay taking a bath until I had a better lead on CameronDaye. I'd hoped my 400 lead was enough. It isn't. I'm behind again.
I'm starting to worry about the weekend since she won't have school and I lose the advantage of being able to take time off of work. One of these days I'm going to end the night ahead of CameronDaye. I hope.
Competition can be fun!
So, find someone you're just a little behind, and try to get ahead. (You don't even have to tell them.) Although if you add them to your buddy list (by clicking on their user name, then click on 'add buddy') they will receive a one-time notification. And they might realize what you're up to. And they may make it just that bit harder for you. Which is good for you, in a writing way.

Yeah, I'm sorry. I only meant to get to 15,000, but the chapter I was writing led me to 17,500 and I thought "It's only 2,500 away from 20,000, come on, you can do that."
Part of me is curious whether I'm /capable/ of writing 10,000 words a day, and if so, how long can I keep that up?
But let's be honest - my word count is because I simply have /no life./ No school, no work. The only things that interrupt my writing are procrastination, eating, and showering.

J A Kosse: (Insert string of words that are entirely too obscene to be put here) I'm vey impressed with you being able to write that much.
Katherine: Argh. Early in the morning is a problem for me, because then I forget to get up and get ready for school. *gives up on appearing half normal to others* Sanity is always overrated. Always.

Have I mentioned that I write early in the morning?
tee-hee.
(I watched your word count all yesterday and muttered a few curses of my own. I'm operating under a handi-cap since my daughter keeps reminding me that last year I made rash statements about how I really shouldn't write more than 5,000 words a day, and that, in fact, 3000 was a reasonable amount and would get me to a good first draft with some sanity left. I'm beginning to think that sanity is over-rated.)
