I find it hard to write of late. Two of my favorite online games released huge expansions last week and all I can think about is playing the new content. If anyone wants to help me stay on track and pester me to write, I'll be on Slack most weekday evenings, like after 8ish.
dictation! voice to text! I was starting to feel like using it was cheating...but as @Squiddish said...nano is a tool. use it how it fits to you...
last night, i was in my office...talking into my phone for about an hour. I had story notes and plot ideas and "what happens next" i had to get out...and i didn't feel like typing or using my hands...so...i sat there, at my desk...talking in to my phone, as it dictated all my words into a note pad...and then just did a copy + paste and emailed it to myself so i could have it in my word document for counting purposes
"blah blah blah blah period period period blah blah blah period new line new line blah blah blah blah comma blah comma blah comma and blah period new line new line"
In one hour...i got 4k in words. I CAN BARELY GET 4 K IN A SUNDAY WRITE IN AT NICHOLS!
so, if you find it hard to write...let your voice do all the work :D
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
Thank you, I think you may have just given me the key I was looking for to get thru this NaNo.
I have developed severe carpal tunnel in my hands. Last year was difficult, but this year my hands have become so numb I can barely type some nights. I never thought of using my phone to dictate.
I only have time to write at night right now and it is killing my word count. My Lyme disease flared back up and it is all I can do to stay awake when I sit down to write. Hence why I am failing miserably with my word count. Ugh.
I hope the voice to text idea above helps you. I think I'm going to try to give it a shot.

Thank you again.
I know people who write using Dragon, which is a voice-to-text software.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_NaturallySpeaking You'll still have to edit it, but it works pretty well.
