I'm once again hosting the longest running series of write-ins in our region: the write-ins in the Nichols Library in downtown Naperville. These are Sunday afternoons in November, 1:30-4:30 pm (note: the library opens at 1 pm on Sundays, so those wanting a bit extra writing time can meet me there at 1 pm).
What can you expect?
We'll check folks into our online word count spreadsheet (useful for quickly checking word war results) and then do a bit of writing before having a word war (timed writing sprint). There will also be a Box of Doom (people draw out a random stick with a target word count to reach; if they succeed, they win a piece of chocolate).
It's okay to bring beverages and snacks.
2018-11-07 update: Nichols Library is going to provide us with coffee and hot water. So folks who want to can bring their favorite tea, hot chocolate and their favorite mugs :-)
Goodies and word war prizes
Like Sam and Jenny, I have the official NaNo stickers (while supplies last) + the Library Crawl cards for everyone who attends. I also have a limited supply of hipster PDAs(chock full of useful advice + a convenient place to stash your crawl cards).
I also have limited edition magnet buttons and owl zipper pulls:
Parking
Parking at Nichols is almost always tight (since anyone visiting Naperville's downtown area can park there, not just library patrons), but you can always park at nearby Alfred Rubins Community Center (note: enter the lot from the west side of Alfred Rubins) or at the Naperville Municipal Center, just one block south of the library.

Many thanks to Mary Costello and the Naperville Public Library for their generous sponsorship :-)
Come on out for the final Nichols Library write-in of this NaNoWriMo season!
Though the weather outside might be frightful, the hot tea/chocolate/coffee inside will be delightful and the words will be forthcoming with word wars, box of doom and huzzah balls to warm you up!
And afterwards, some of you might drive up for Sam's Big Blue Box write-in.

Solid turn out on this rainy Sunday afternoon. Kudos to all who came, competed, and won prizes:
Quite a few Huzzahs this afternoon!
Many thanks to the Nichols Library (Naperville Public library) for their continued sponsorship of NaNoWriMo.
