Sam B is hosting again this year, and it'll be at the Naperville Municipal Center (400 S. Eagle Street) from 8 am to3 pm.
It's a grand ole room, windows, tables, and most importantly a small kitchen that we can cook in. Last year I remember kettles and crock-pots.
You don't have to stay for the whole time. Come and go and come again, depending on your schedule. But do, please come. We need to defeat the NaNoWriMo Monster!
Please use this thread to RVSP your attendance, and whether or not you're planning on bringing munchies to share.
I am a maybe...70% coming 30% maybe not (because, house chores, a baby, mom and dad in town)...but...i've already told them I might go...which is why I am doing mad dashes around the house to get as many chores done as possible so i don't shove them all on the hubby for the day lol
If i go...I know i can bring all my teas (loose leaf, loose leaf bags, etc) if someone provides an electric kettle. I might have sugar packets too...otherwise, i have a sugar shaker....for anyone who is like me and loves their tea so sickeningly sweet! I can also bring a box of nerdy tea mugs and coffee mugs that i can share for the day (or until i leave)
as far as bringing food...unsure yet. depends what everyone else brings...maybe i can stop at costco and find something
Unsure about another blanket fort...the last few years, there really wasn't any good place set up a good one, and the chairs stand alone make for a short fort *snrk* but when we did have the fort, people enjoyed writing in it, or taking short writing break naps...if there is enough response for it, i might bring some blankets and binder clips...so...let me know on this one...otherwise i'll leave all my blankets at home
If there is a NEED for it...i have three 3.5" inch binders FULL and organized with nothing but writing references i have printed over the years from: -writing tips -how to write body lauguage -Story Do's and DOn'ts -over coming writers block -tips for writing depending on genre, history, era, medical advice, writing blood and gory scenes, dialogue, etc -grammar tips -why research is important -words to use instead of ____ (this one is in it's own 1.5 inch binder. binder is full!
you get the picture...i can bring both binders if people want them to look through
And...that's about it. Eh, maybe i'll bring cross stitching ti work on when i take writing breaks...or i can try and pick up knitting again
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
I had to miss this event last year (was in Budapest), so I am definitely looking forward to going this year.
Not sure what to bring to share :-/. I have a crock pot, but don't want to spend a lot of time cooking. Wish we could do a crock pot stone soup, but that would probably be a huge experiment and a lot of work.
I am further behind this year (word count) than I can remember being in years and years... :-/

you could always go the easy route with the crock pot and buy 5-10 cans of the same soup and throw it in...just don't tell anyone and make them think it's home made! LOL!

I am feeling pretty gung-ho right now...and might make some slow cooker chicken corn chowder soup (of my own recipe) or...i can make it vegetarian and use vegetable stock and just make corn chowder soup....
otherwise, i might pick up donuts (or other sweet treats) because...sweet treats help motivate a writer to write, correct?
and if i am out getting donuts, i can pick up some plates, spoons, and bowls
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
I will be there! I hope to show up right at the start. I will bring a french press and some coffee but I don't have an electric kettle to heat up the water sooooooo it may be useless, but I'll bring it anyway just in case. I will also bring a chips/snack item probably Crunchin Kernels. I can bring napkins as well.
I do intend to show up at some point. It depends how well I sleep and how I feel when I wake up, but as of about five minutes ago I'm completely done with ONE of my two classes this term, and my word count is waaaay behind, so... there is hope. However, I am also battling a nasty cold type of thing, so... there is doubt.
I will not be bringing food to share. You do not want my germs. Also, I am rather short on energy, and must ration it carefully, and food has never been my forte.
teas, mugs, sugar (hopefully someone has an electric kettle!)
sugar cookies and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies
2 doz krispy kreme doughnuts
slow cooker of vegetarian corn chowder soup
reference binders
I left jewel earlier and completely forgot to get disposable cutlery and bowls though, but i think the doughnuts make up for it.
I can also bring a bunch of bottle cap magnets that i made for thursday's write in but it was just me at the write in. word war prizes! I'd make more...but i am down to my last stick of hot glue lol
blanket fort is still up in the air if people want it...otherwise i'll leave the blankets at home
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
I'll be there too. :) I'll bring some apples and maybe bananas if I find any that are ripe enough. Aaaaaaand I suppose my electric kettle can come along with me as well....

I'm a probably (80/20?), at least for a while.
Don't know what I'm bringing, but probably something like cheese and crackers.

I am 90% sure that I will attend the all-day write in! I really need a full day of doing nothing else but writing.
I will bring a snack to share. See you there. Thanks!
Sticking with the theme, I will be there, probably. I'm not sure when or for how long and I have no idea what I'll bring.

I am planning on coming and my wife will accompany me (and do her own thing). I'll probably bring some banana nut bread for snack.
Look forward to joining the fun!
Ill probably come by, but Im not sure what time I will get there. Ill likely pick up a snack.

I'll be there between 9-9:30 likely.
I have cookies I'll be bringing. (One might be missing since I had to taste test them. ;) haha)
I'll also be bringing something else but I'm not sure what yet, whatever strikes my fancy at the store in the morning.
Really wish I could be there for this but Im in AZ visiting some of my children I never see.
I'm actually just a liar and forgot I don't have a french press anymore. But I did bring some tea.
We're in the Lunch Room! We have donuts, hot water, tea, mugs, fresh fruits, lots of prizes, a blanket fort, ...! Come on down!
