So, I was having this thought. I have those a lot. Anyway! My thought was that I'd like something to challenge me as well. The challenge is just to tell me what your favorite word is and I'll do my best to work it into a story at some point!
I say this, because two of my favorite words arewont and penultimate, both of which are exciting and nice to work into writing. (I already try to put 'wont' into everything because I really like it.)
Anyone that wants to do it with me is welcome, otherwise... throw your favorite words my way!
"orb" is one of my favorite words, as is "ensorcelled," and are favorite phrases allowed? Because I like to use "murder" as in "a murder of crows" whenever appropriate.
I may have to stalk this thread...vocab is not my strong suit and often, my writing has red words all over...because red words mean "go to the thesaurus because this doesn't sound right and there has to be a better word to use!"
i like Brouhaha....because it has HAHA in it...and when i first had this word on my vocab list in 7th grade...i was trying my hardest not to LOL in class. if i say it long enough, the haha makes me haha...if you say it in a deep voice...even funnier.
it's like...you CAN'T walk away with out a smile if you say the word "Bubbles" in a deep husky voice
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
Oh gawd yes, "bubbles" is hilarious! :D One of my PokemonGO vaporeons is named "bubbles" and I can't help but smile at it. (Also at the one named "Porkins" but that's a different story.) If you're looking for more lol-worthy words, try Kankakee. I don't know what it is about that word, but it's so hard for me to say it without a chuckle afterwards: Kankakee, heeheehee!

Same goes for the plain old "Hee Hee...." as in...a chuckle...but said in a deep manly voice. Have a deep manly character laugh at something by going "hee hee"...maybe i should put that in my story

Words? I LOVE words! Maybe that's why I write them.
Some particular favorites of mine:
Squabble. (Because squabble. Seriously, say it out loud. How can you NOT love the word squabble?)
Sultry. (It was on a 4th grade spelling list, and then one time I wanted to use it but couldn't actually remember it, and so read the entire S section of the dictionary until I found it. True story.)
Clump. (Long story. Inside joke. Don't ask. I like it best when it's used unexpectedly, like a clump of people.)
Hmm... I have others. Of course, words get even better with alliteration. Massive bonus points if you manage to work in a squabble scribbled on scratch paper. (Totally jotting that down for future use...) As a trio--but ONLY when taken as a trio--my favorite words are mumble, mutter, and murmur. Think about those three! They SOUND similar and MEAN something similar but are all SLIGHTLY different. Love it.
I may come back with more later. I like words. Words are awesome.
Oh, squinch! I forgot squinch! Squinch is a lovely word. That came from another time I read the whole S-section of a much bigger dictionary. (Yes, it has happened more than once.)
I seem to have an affinity for S-words. Especially if Q is involved.
All great suggestions, guys! I love the unexpected or 'hard' to use ones. ;) As I get further in the story and manage to work some in, I'll post excerpts. If you're using them, feel free to do the same!
quire - I stumbled on to the word going to dictionary.com one day and just can't get it out of my head. The websites first definition for the word is "a set of 24 uniform sheets of paper."

Why would you ever need to use that word?
Are you kidding? I could probably manage to fit that into every. single. sentence.
Whenwouldn't you need to talk about a quire?
When you really mean to talk about a choir? *ba-dum tish!*
