I started the same thread last year and i feel like bringing it back!
ok...maybe not the word "fandoms" per say....but things that you LOVE and or love with a passion...enough that you'd LOVE to find other people who share that interest...someone you wouldn't mind geeking out with or talking for hours on said interest...
maybe it's a favorite author and you just want to get excited about their books...or groan about how you have to wait FOREVER for the next one. Maybe it's a favorite tv show an you HAVE to talk to someone about the latest episode or you'll explode (i don't watch the show...but it seemed to be the case with TWD fans)...Maybe it's not something to read or watch but a craft you love working on...
That way...for future write-ins...or just chatting in general...you find common ground..maybe make a new friend. Something to talk about other than your writing...because sometimes conversation is great WHILE you write and finding that common ground can help!
So? What are YOU in to?
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
WHOVIAN! doooweeeeeooooooooooo Once upon a time Sailor Moon Parks and Rec on a smaller scale, i enjoy Star Trek TNG but i haven't even finished watching the entire series. Mythbusters (so sad it's over but can't WAIT for the new series where they try to find NEW mythbusters for a NEW GENERATION)
books/comics:
Sailor moon manga Lunar chronicles (also means that Marissa Meyer is becoming my favorite author....and also because SHE TOO IS A MOONIE FAN!!!) Victoria Aveyard's Red queen series. Fault in our stars Memoirs of a Geisha i have a few deadpool comics but i haven't been good about reading more... Calvin and hobbes will always be a childhood favorite. Bill Watterson is a genius
Movies:
95% of the marvel movies. the 5% are ones i haven't seen yet like the Hulk movies...the second thor movie...but the avengers series??? all the captain america movies!!!! IRON MAN?! Guardians of the galaxy? DEADPOOL?!?!?!?! pure love right there. I can't wait until GOTG Vol.2 and Doctor Strange!
I used to like the shrek movies...and 1 is a classic...2 was great...but after that...ugh. and to hear they are doing a shrek 4?! ENOUGH ALREADY!
But i don't feel this way about Toy Story 4....the last movie...all the feels at the end
The little mermaid is my favorite disney movie... and the sailor moon movies will always hold a special place in my heart
So, is it obvious bu now that i am a big geek?
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
Red vs. Blue is my current obsession, and if you know the series you can probably see a lot of parallels between that and what I'm writing this year.
Also just took the plunge into the Fallout universe with Fallout 4 this year. I'm beginning to think it was a bad idea to buy that game 2 weeks before NaNo...
I'm not sure I'm intense enough to claim a fandom, but....
Authors: I adore hundreds and read almost everything, but I really only follow Julia Quinn, Mary Kay Andrews, JK Rowling, and Neil Gaiman (though, and I know this will be shocking, I've read only one of his books) since there are things I admire about them outside their work.
Television: I'm currently leading a group in watching Gilmore Girls for the first time (it's my 13th full series re-watch) and re-watching/catching up with Supernatural and Doctor Who. I'm looking forward to resuming Poldark and Vikings and probably a few more I'm not remembering at the moment.
Otherwise, I'm known as the leggings girl. I have a serious obsession with bold printed leggings with over 80 pairs in my closet.

Which one of his books have you read?
I really enjoyed Stardust, The Graveyard Book and Neverwhere. His graphic novel series the Sandman is also very good, as is the Books of Magic.
My fandom rabidity has severely declined in recent years, but you can count on me going crazy for these two things:
Books by Sarah J. Maas (especiallyA Court of Mist and Fury, aka MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER)
Hamilton the Musical
I'm also super excited for the Gilmore Girls revival on Netflix. I guarantee I will NOT be getting any writing done the day it comes out because I will be binge-watching it!
Another TV show I love to death is Hart of Dixie. I watch a few current shows, but there aren't any I'm particularly obsessed with.
augh! FALL OUT! when we first got it for christmas last year...i thought "nooooo...i'm not going to play it"..I WAS WRONG AND NOW I HAVE A 7 STORY APARTMENT COMPLEX AT THE STARLIGHT DRIVE IN...
i stopped playing a few months ago when pregnancy and stress and 2 jobs got in the way...BUT I WANT TO GET BACK I TO IT because i have ONE settlement that i am purposely making as my "shit settlement"...it's small...and i purposely set up a recruitment beacon and left it on...BUT...gave no one beds or water or food....i'm seeing how far this goes until all hell breaks lose and we have a mutiny...oh, and if they ever need help...i'm never there.
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
AHHH! I just boughtThrone Of Glass because ALL my friends told me IT WAS A SERIES I HAVE TO READ! I haven't started the first book yet but considering how excited you seem....I MAY HAVE TO START THIS SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!!!!
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?

For halloween, i hung my weeping angel mask on the door...We just saw a Dalek come out trick-or-treating JUST as i was walking outside with the dog...so i whispered to him "you don't want to trick-or-treat here...we have an infestation of weeping angels"...so he looks curioius and takes his cardboardness up to our door...and i shout "DON'T BLINK!!!!" as my husband opens the door wearing the mask!

Omg you definitely should!!! I liked Throne of Glass but I wasn't like OMFG THIS IS AMAZING until the second book, so keep that in mind if you find yourself less than amazed by ToG! That seems to be the pattern with Sarah J Maas's series. I like the first books but it's the second books that blow me away! It was the same with her other series, A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Brooooo if you ever need more deadpool comics to read just hit me up. I have a lot of hard copies but also a great deal of digital ones and you're welcome to use my Marvel account and read them.
He. Fandoms. This might be the year I break 100 fics on Ao3.
Current obsession - BBC Merlin. I've been stuck (happily) in it for oh gosh pushing a year.
Things I will probably never leave - FMA, Transformers, Pacific Rim, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Rise of the Guardians, How to Train Your Dragon, Percy Jackson, Marvel (somewhat, I like the fandom but will rarely contribute or theorize, just like Host Club)
Things I'm trying to avoid falling into - Once Upon a Time (though I totally day dream a lengthy crossover with Merlin while I fall asleep/walk to work)
Pacific Rim. <3 A few years back I was part of a Pac Rim secret santa. I knitted a Gyspy Danger hat and a Cherno Alpha scarf. Still the crowning achievement of my knitting career.

deadpool is quite possibly...super <insert swear here> awesome. An old friend tried to get me to read the comics probably a decade ago...but this was back when i was younger and a SUPER WEEABOO SNOB and refused to read american comics because i didn't like the art because OH EM GEE ANIMU IS SUPER KAWAII AND BETTER!
i've matured A LOT since then...and i kept seeng deadpool fandom pop up on tumblr and now that i was more open minded...I WANT TO TELL MY PAST SELF TO STFU AND READ THE DAMN COMICS....i hope to read more once the baby arrives and i quit my morning office job...

eventually, i want to get SO MUCH in supplies i can turn my apartment complex into something like a skyscraper.
Funny note: i built in balconies to these apartments...but i fell from probably..the 6th floor because i forgot to put railings up...I FORGOT TO SAVE 3 FLOORS PRIOR...ALL THAT WORK!! GONE T_T

Gha, I hate when that happens! I'm especially bad about not saving after getting a legendary item. I lost a Never Ending hunting rifle that way: Killed a legendary rabid radstag, got the awesome gun, then went and got blown up by a supermutant suicider. I reloaded and hiked back across the map, but the legendary animal didn't even load that time, just a normal radstag. It was a sad day.

I used to love rumple/Mr. Gold as my favorite...but not anymore!!! although, i like rumplestiltskin...but i care less and less for Mr. Gold as the seasons go on (and wtf is with his new hairdo? i liked his long locks!!!!!!)
other sobbing moments: -the peter pan season finale when henry and emma went their way... -Emma in the "book" when she watched what happened to hook
i swear, i should just keep a permanent box of tissues on my side of the couch. this show gives me way to many feels.
I am actually kind of glad my husband gave up after season 2...he didn't seem to enjoy OUAT the way i did...and at least i can enjoy all my feels in whole with out getting weird side eye looks because i am sobbing, or squealing, or shouting lol!
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
Yeah, Rumple...Gold is just a huge pain. They tried to redeem him but he ended up just being worse than anyone else.
I agree with you on those moments. Both of those still break my heart watching them. And then there's the good-bye in the Underworld. I'm not sure I will ever recover from that.
Just let me know! I am always willing to educate anyone and weep with them over Deadpool. Definitely start with the Dead President's series as it not only made me die laughing but also made me cry.

I totally forgot to put myself in the Avatar fandom!!! (though, some of you might have guessed it already when you saw me with my Sky Bison at the pot luck party)...
I can't rave enough about this show...and how many positive messages it portrays. How the character growth is, how the story is written...both in ATLA and in LOK. I appreciate how REAL the relationships are and how important that is for young children and teens to see....rather than many shows for kids/teens where everything resolves so nicely at the end of each episode...
Who else is in the avatar fandom?
I'll be a story in your head. But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end.Just make it a good one, eh?
i forgot to add video games...even though i tend to play them when i first get them...like...all the time and then i just stop...for months at a time.
-Legend of Zelda (I haven't played ALL of them...just LTTP, OOT, SS, and TP) -Fallout 4 (i was too interested in making settlements than i was finishing the main plot LOL!) -Animal crossing new leaf -to a MUCH lesser extent: super mario world games. I tend to get bored quick because it's the same old "beat a level...get stars, continue".... -but i do love me a good mario kart race -The Sims. sort of. I get periods where i get addicted for weeks and then i move on to something else....but i'm the sadistic mofo who toys with my characters
back in the day, i was heavy intoChrarmed. and i've seen every episode. i own 75% of the season box sets....
So far with this thread, i've met some amazing people who share in what i share and THAT IS AWESOME!

I used to love rumple/Mr. Gold as my favorite...but not anymore!!! although, i like rumplestiltskin...but i care less and less for Mr. Gold as the seasons go on (and wtf is with his new hairdo? i liked his long locks!!!!!!)
other sobbing moments:
-the peter pan season finale when henry and emma went their way...
But that's OK:We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?
Yeah, Rumple...Gold is just a huge pain. They tried to redeem him but he ended up just being worse than anyone else.
I agree with you on those moments. Both of those still break my heart watching them. And then there's the good-bye in the Underworld. I'm not sure I will ever recover from that.

Just let me know! I am always willing to educate anyone and weep with them over Deadpool. Definitely start with the Dead President's series as it not only made me die laughing but also made me cry.
dead presidents. got it. Ill be sure to do it while eating a plate full of chimichangas (which...i just HAD to gook the night before we saw deadpool in theaters)

Who else is in the avatar fandom?

i forgot to add video games...even though i tend to play them when i first get them...like...all the time and then i just stop...for months at a time.
-Legend of Zelda (I haven't played ALL of them...just LTTP, OOT, SS, and TP)
-Fallout 4 (i was too interested in making settlements than i was finishing the main plot LOL!)
-Animal crossing new leaf
-to a MUCH lesser extent: super mario world games. I tend to get bored quick because it's the same old "beat a level...get stars, continue"....
-but i do love me a good mario kart race
-The Sims.
