As some of you may recall, the city of Naperville changed its policies last fall (2015) and started charging for non-profit use of its Naperville Municipal Center. As a result, we took up a collection last fall and received some contributions to pay for room reservations.
I just wanted to update the region on the current state of our regional finances. This summer, the Writing Journey gave its Writer's Voice workshop at the Woodridge Public Library, earning $150 that ensures we have funds to pay for rooms for NaNoWriMo (kick-off, TGIO and all-day write-in) in 2018.

Thanks to everyone who contributed last year. Your generosity ensured we have rooms for this year and next.
Don't forget to donate to National Novel Writing Month.

Thanks for sharing this, Tim, and for your excellent handling of the region's finances.
Anyway we can continue to get paid for putting on writerly events in the future? I like the idea of the Journey actually generating money.

Thanks, Jenny. We can certainly explore this aspect of it with our library sponsors and with other libraries.
Thanks, for taking care of this Tim! Thanks also to everyone that donated. And you know I am always up for a workshop :)
