Thank Goodness It's Over (TGIO) Potluck Celebration - 2014
Saturday, December 6th, 11:45 - 2:45, Lunch room in the lower level of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St., Naperville
Please let us know if you can make it (only those who RSVP will be entered into the drawing for door prizes), and what you'd like to bring. Everyone should:
feel free to invite your friends and family;
bring a stuffed animal for the group photo;
NEW: Please bring a piece of paper with a short excerpt of at least ten words, and not more than twenty-five, from a book you really like. This will be used in an icebreaker. (And if you forget to bring one, youll have to use the spares that are available.)
bring yourLibrary Crawl cards to be entered into the raffle; write your name on the back of each one (we'll be using them directly in the raffle; and you can retrieve them from the cauldron afterwards if you want them as keepsakes)
and if there are musicians among you, consider bringing your instrument to help us with our regional song.
If you're aren't sure what to bring, we can probably use non-meat main and side dishes.
NewMexicoKid + wife (Nan), main dish (fried wontons)
Kat's Meow - chili
Tink 5050 - chicken/pasta salad
FredDuck - planning to bring a main course with meat in it, that vegetarians cannot eat or even look at. It will probably have lots of meat and noodles (not made of meat). Maybe one of those crock pot doohickeys (what a crock).
Alright, looks like I got my work weekend switched, so I will be there. I'll bring cookies again. Everyone liked the cookies so much last time, so I'll be sure to make more this time!
I really want to come, but that's the only weekend my friends from out of state can visit - I'll see if I can drag them along for lunch, and if so, I'll bring something tasty, but don't count on me. :(
And I guess I'll bring the pop, although I am unsure whether it will be bottles&cups or cans. However, it will probably be Coke and Sprite, because who doesn't like those?
I'm hoping to be there since I couldn't make it to the kick off party! I'll bring something tasty and will add it to this comment when I 100% figure out what it's going to be, but let's be honest, it's probably gonna be cookies.
Ed says he will go if he finishes the last7,902 in the next two days. Being that he is extremely lazy, he does not know if this is the case.
He is planning to bring a main course with meat in it, that vegetarians cannot eat or even look at. It will probably have lots of meat and noodles (not made of meat). Maybe one of those crock pot doohickeys (what a crock).
Additionally, he is surprised there was a Write-In at IPPL yesterday but that's okay because he took over the entire meeting room at WPL instead. Mwahaha.
He regrets to inform you that he doesn't know any musicians.
This message of 133words totally counts towards the 7,902. Tra la la la la-di-dah-di-dum. Hyphenated words only count as one. Hewill remember this.
Good news. Even though local counter said 50,100 words, NaNo counter said "no, is only 49,504 words ha ha ha puny human" butwas able to make up difference in only three hours not necessarily by copying and pasting parts of " la recherche du temps perdu" into manuscript at random key points. So is more good news that will be cooking but bad news is no one leaves until is all gone.
I didn't participate this year, but my daughter did, and hit her word goal of 10,800. She has informed me that we're going to the TGIO party again. :) We'll bring rolls of some sort.

I hope to do most of the certificates tomorrow night; I might be able to do a few on Friday. Of course, people can RSVP any time and come; but things that take preparation like the certificates might not be ready if you respond on Saturday. The best thing to do if you might be able to come is just say maybe now.
I have bought six bottles of pop (2 coke, 1 diet coke, 2 sprite, 1 root beer) and I have found some cups to bring, as well. Should I maybe go back and snag a few more??

Maybe--looks like we will have 53 people definite 4 possible at this point; I would guess that maybe half will be drinking pop?
I'll make a second stop and get a couple more, then. Good thing they're on sale!
Update: I bought a few Mug Root Beers (2), Strawberry Crush, Mellow Yellow, and another one I can't remember. So 11 bottles of pop total from me, which should cover a good amount of people? I have never bought pop for 50. Ehehe.
