The Writing Journey is our region's year-round writing group. It is particularly active January through June and in September, but there are Journey activities year round. TheWriting Journey is an a la carte writing group where members can put together their own activities (which we call Paths). Past paths have included:
monthly meetings with workshops
Shakespeare Reader's Theatre where we read and act out the Bard's plays
editing path (very popular with those who want to take the next step with their novel drafts)
accountability path -- meet monthly with a small group, share your progress and your objectives and keep yourself accountable to them
story wall -- this is a great exercise for authors to do to improve their works, especially if they are looking to solve a problem with their novel: they present a high level view of their novel (in 10-15 minutes) to a small group that then asks questions and provides feedback and helpful suggestions
archery path
spirit path and food path -- these involve going out to area restaurants
To join the Writing Journey, just answer this survey. Existing members who wish to return should also fill out this form.
Have questions about the Journey? Suggestions for improving it? Things we did that you would like to see continue? Share them here in this thread.

You are up there (though I capitalized your name ;-) ).
Not sure how far north our members go. I know Tom (tomster) is up around Schaumburg. There may be others

So six poets so far...
I thought I had signed up again this year. My names not there. :(

Steve White (whitey) lives in Elgin, though he hasn't signed up yet. But I bet he will eventually
Thanks. I guess I just didn't see myself. :(.
I'd like to come back, if I haven't worn out my welcome.
I just signed up.
I'd love to get something going in the Elmhurst area.
I'm out in the Glendale Heights area. :) I am excited to join this group to help me keep my brain-child on track.
All human wisdom is contained in these two words: wait and hope.
Some of the survey results as of 2014-12-11:
So the Editing Path is the most popular; 3/4 of the 2015 members are interested in it. Accountability Path is not too far behind that.
20 authors are interested in the short story anthology path, so if we can find an interesting theme or topic, we may have a critical mass.
