Most of our events in November are write-ins because writing time is so very precious. But it can be good for those who are on plan or ahead to take a little bit of time out for some mid-month socializing.
Since a number of folks will have an opportunity to get ahead at the all-day write-in on the 14th (Friday), I was thinking we should schedule a dinner out on the 15th (Saturday). We'll be meeting at Houlihan's in Wheaton at 5:15 pm. I've made reservations for the ten folks listed below.
Tom & Eddies is pretty small for a large group. Clara's is one of the best places on the face of the earth (even if they don't open until 4 pm). I'm pretty sure I'm in either way.
Since we're talking about a Saturday night, it might be easier if we did Chinese or Indian food since they usually aren't as booked as Italian places, and we're unlikely to know how many people are coming this early. (Unless you want to make a tentative reservation. Clara's is great.)
I'm like a 90% yes. For some reason my brain is firing a "danger will robinson" for the 15th but I don't see anything on my iCal. I'l have to double check w/the Ball & Chain when he gets home :-D
What about BDs Mongolian BBQ in DT naperville? they have that room off to the side that might be big enough for a large group? And it's fairly reasonable- I believe its like 12.99 pp for all-you-can-eat stir fry?
Grr. Out of town that day and I'm 99.99% sure I won't be back in time to meet, though I would love to. If you all decide on Clara's, I'd strongly advise making a reservation, but you do need 5 or more before they'll take it.

Thanks for the advice, Catherine. Sorry to miss you (though let us know if things change).
Currently it looks like Houlihan's in Wheaton will be the destination. I'll make reservations tomorrow for 5:15 pm on Saturday (to give us time to get over there after the Warrenville write-in).
I am a definite yes IF the place we choose is within walking distance / near a metra station. / close enough that I can ask a friend for a ride. I don't have a ton of time (or resources) to be out long, so reducing travel time is a plus.

:)
Looks like we are headed to Houlihan's in Wheaton. Does that work okay for you?
All, my apologies I wont be able to make it tonight. I finally have reached that point in my novel where the words are flowing instead of fighting and I'm afraid that if I get up and go somewhere and break my concentration that I won't be able to get it back. :(
I think dinner last night followed the plot, appetizers were the Inciting Incident, Rising Action of a good meal and conversation (and some alcohol) lead to an exciting Climax of much needed laughter and a break from writing. Our stomachs full and content (Falling Action) led to the Resolution of this story, an evening well spent was upon us! A writer writes...and eats...and drinks...

Not pricey is my preference.

Ooh, I haven't been to Clara's in a few years. I'm in. It's lots of food for not lots of $$.
Let's settle on a restaurant: Please vote: http://doodle.com/4yvimbqyvrd429y2

Yes, still good for me.
Sorry! I just saw this now. Is it too late to RSVP?
Oh no! I'm sorry! Am I too late?

Have an extra drink for me! <3
I am sorry that I missed you. I can't come after all. So sorry to let you know so late. Something came up.
Thanks to everyone for coming out--I had a lot of fun.
Great Pic! It was a lot of fun! We all needed a night out!
