I'm excited to say that 2014 will be my first year typing my novel on a tablet using Google Docs! I've been getting everything set up just the way I want it in prep for NaNo. I was happy that Google extended "store on device" to the Docs/Write app some time ago so that I can be productive even in the face of a wireless drought.
I recently picked up the app for Android, "Writeometer" that looks really interesting for keeping track of both NaNo and non-NaNo projects. It lets you set goals (long term for the entire project and short term, like "write for 25 minutes") that earn you points you can use to redeem rewards. Everything is customizable so you can set the rewards to whatever you want (like spending some time on Facebook or getting up and making dinner).
I'm still looking for an app that will let me track my wordcount easily (via copy and paste or something) since Write doesn't let me.
I'm not using it for NaNo this year, but Day One will tell you a word and character count for your current entry. You could use one journal entry for your entire novel, or do a different entry each day. Then you could have a breakdown of your progress each day.

What apps and programs are you using this year?
