My novel this year, the Door in the Corner of the Playground, is about a group of four friends, fourth graders, who go to a magic realm through a strange door in the corner of their playground at recess. They return only minutes later, but they return as children despite spending almost two decades in the other world. Two of the friends married in the other world and had a child there, a child who was left behind in the magic realm when they were inadvertently returned to their own world.
The story explores the effects of their adventure and the challenges and difficult choices that lie ahead of them.
Andy and another group are back in Edinburgh and trying to put on a show despite distractions, and conflicts within the group, especially with Janek, who found them a great venue, but thinks hes funny when hes just gross.
The presence of his wifes ex-husband, Mr. Perfect, gnaws at Andys self-confidence and makes him question his life choices.
Planet of the Gods: Giant Gods have made the planet their playground, and the mere peons cannot see them, only the effects of their mayhem. One person gets to see behind the veil and feels compelled to reclaim the world for the peons.

Millie must come to terms with the way her life could change in order to have it better than she ever expected. Only one path will lead her to her ultimate happiness.
I am having the hardest time coming up with names! And this brief synopsis still needs to be re-worked. I feel like it makes it sound like a love triangle/cheating kind of story and it isn't. At all.
Love this graph! Thanks for setting it up again Tim!
Andrea, a twenty-something editor at a historical magazine, signs up for an oddly named community center class to investigate suspicions regarding a secret room on the community center's blueprints. She ends up discovering a support group for wizards, learning about the wizard bureaucracy, and truly annoying the leadership of her small suburb.
Hello. Ok - I don't know the Titles of my novels yet. I probably won't know till November.
But, my Ya/Sci-Fi/Fantasy is a bout a 17 year old girl who discovers that she's a princess- or something from another realm and has to go back to rule and may or may not have to save earth in this realm. - I'm a Pantser - not sure what what's going to happen.
and my second Novel - Romance - about a couple. I don't know the beginning on this one - but I do know the end - which ends in a proposal for marriage. um - Maybe I should call it a billion ways to propose? More interesting stuff happens - way before the ending - I just don't know what it is. :(
Only Colette recognizes the danger lurking within the off-limits nature reserve on her aunt's tropical island. Can she understand this danger and communicate it to the inhabitants in time for them to save their lives?
When she visits tropical Shadow Island to see her aunt, Colette, a photojournalist for a magazine, ventures deep within an off-limits nature reserve (a jungle rainforest), discovers terrifying dangers that threaten the lives of the islanders, and races against time to rally them to fight back and save their lives.
Colette must race against time to rally the residents of her aunt's island against the life-threatening danger that lurks deep within the off-limits nature reserve.

Please add me to the word count graph. My Novel this year isA Little Help Here.It is going to be a family comedy/drama but little else including the constitution of the family or much of the drama is defined yet (but I do have a lot of ideas for the comedy).
My novel this year, Choose Player,is an interactive children's novel. You, the main character, can choose from four different avatars and you mission changes based on choices that you make. TBH I'm pantsing a lot of it and I don't know how complicated the story line is going to become.
I plan on finishing the Novel I started last year that has been collecting dust these long months of inactivity ~

"The Elevens," better known as elves, are children whose lives have been cut short in life. A figure appears to them in the eleventh hour of their lives. If they recognize him for who he is, Saint Nicholas, they get to live a new life, as an eleven, at the north pole. The children who do not recognize him, or those who have lived as elves and are ready to join their surviving loved onesin an afterlife together, are guided by the Saint, onward.
This is meant to be a children's, or middle grade novel. I really like the concept, but the struggle will be 1) Not making the santa's elves things too corny and 2) not making the death thing too morbid. Should be interesting...
On Halloween, the spirit world draws close to ours, and certain doors can be opened for just one night. This year, they aren't closing. It's up to the Chicago branch of the Hecate Knights to put things right.
The Tribes of Olabisi. The title may change, and I'm still not quite sure how to summarize the darn thing, but basically this monarchy turned into a republic a little over a dozen years ago. The royal family all went into hiding (well, except for that one princess who was sort of driven into exile, and probably some others got killed) to avoid the "bloody" part of revolution. And then one day, the young woman whowouldbe next in line for the crown suddenly appears in the capitol city. And nobody minds at all and everybody's happy, right? Yeah, no, because then I wouldn't have a story.
Desert Rosecontinues the story of Vivian, a vampire buried alive for 50 years. After escaping her fate and vowing revenge on the man who left her there, Vivian quickly learned all was not as it seemed. Rising up through the ranks of Chicagos supernatural scene, she has to choose between loyalty and love, between family and revenge. Her travels find her heading to Egypt to find the elusive and mysterious Seshat, crossing paths with werewolves and gargoyles, and plunging head first into the wraith world. Her adventures place her in dangers far greater than she has ever experienced, only for her to find out that maybe the greatest danger, has been next to her all along.
This year I planning on working on a fan fiction idea I've been plotting since late March. It's called "Things I Never Said Enough", and it's for the Teen Wolf fandom. The main pairing will be Stiles and Derek and the basic idea is that I'll be rewriting the whole show, keeping some main plot points the same, but when they met, how they interact, and the magic in that world will be changed and explored in a way that the showdoesn'treallydo.
I really love the idea of this (enough that I have 19 pages full of bare bones outline typed up), and I hope to really get the ball rolling on this idea using NaNoWriMo as my main drive and focus.
My Work in progress is titled WIP. It is a mystery/police procedural about a boy who was abducted and supposedly murdered 15 years before. But now someone claims he is alive and various factions want his story kept quiet.

After Ivy's career implodes due to rumors and allegations, Ivy needs to figure out who she is, who her friends truly are, and whether or not she follows her heart when deciding what to do next.
Ace worked at a comic book shop. It's not something he's proud of, but there aren't many career opportunities for college drop outs or former superheroes, and Ace was both. His only entertainment was reading comics about his glory years and arguing with customers over superheroes. One of his customers must have been paying attention. Soon every weakness, every strategy Ace had mentioned on how each superhero could be taken down was being used against them by a new supervillain team. The supervillains were using everything Ace had said to take down every hero in the city and they were winning. Ace's only shot was to form a superhero team of his own and fight back, but he didn't really get along with most superheroes back when he was one himself. The years after retirement hadn't helped his relations, either. The only heroes he was able to get don't trust him, not that he trust them either. Can they all stick around long enough to defeat the city's new threat?
Ok. Seriously. I'm going to be writing about a young girl who is a latchkey kid. She's drawn to a really decrepit old, abandoned house. There are goblins (unseen by her) that suck her life energy and pull her deeper into a depressed state. Who can rescue her, and can she save the house?
Hello! My novel is intended to be about a traffic cop from the future who tickets someone who just won't have it. Each bands together with all their resources to do the right thing, but you're not really sure which is the right thing through this devil's advocate point of view.
When a burglary is bungled a lone thief is forced to work with a team filled with enemies. They must steal information that will bring down a local crime organization or pay the price for their failure.
The guy in the pink hat is murdered during a plein air painting holiday in Tuscany. No one is terribly sorry about it. He managed to make himself obnoxious to the group criticizing everyone elses work, painting on others pictures, being the ugly American in general. So pretty much everyone in the group had a motive. Teacher and leader Bella Sarver, red-haired, small-framed, bright blue eyes, anxious to both shepherd her little group around safely and efficiently and help them improve their paintings, has her hands full trying to rescue her holiday and give value for money, while helping the Italian police with their inquiries. Turns out, one of the painters had a motive, all right, but it had nothing to do with painting, and everything to do with a betrayal of trust in the past.
My novel WAS going to be a YA Urban Fantasy, but I changed it to an Adult Urban Fantasy just yesterday. Yikes! It is set in Chicago. The Fae are losing their magic, demon souls are running amok and it is up to the Senders to deal with the errant souls, send them back, and figure out who is responsible for the leaking of the Fourth Land of Souls before it fails and floods the city. Or something along those lines :)
A Conspiracy of Night, in which Samantha finally admits to friends and family that she is dying, Matt finds out his wife's kidnapping was just a ruse to trick him into helping an unsavory bunch of thugs, Andrew and Alexei finally uncover Agent Dade's secret and Anne and Edwin might just finally make a go of their marriage.
I'm writing an Inspirational Romance. Make Over, Mine!
John is shy, socially awkward and languishing in his job as a reference librarian. After being passed over for a promotion, he turns to his friend and co-worker Angie, for consolation. Angie convinces John to undergo a make over, one that will change his heart, mind and his spirit. John gets connected to the Mens Ministry at the local church, and begins to realize his God given strengths; he embraces his new life, a life he wants to share with Angie. But a tragic mistake from her past, may keep Angie from accepting this new love.
Suppose a middle aged father had his young daughter taken from him to send into a convent to serve a god he didn't believe in because she was determined to have powerful manna, or magical energy. Suppose 1 in 10 daughters suffered this fate and they were told it was for the service of the society.
Suppose this was the year 2299 and the world had been destroyed by Armageddon and only patches of societies remained, no longer in control of past technology, but slowly rediscovering the powerful magic that had caused that Armageddon centuries ago.
Gak, I can't believe I haven't gotten on this yet.
The Steward's Daughter: As their generation ship approaches its destination after a thousand-year journey, the captain's family begins to fall apart, along with all of her plans for the future.
Obstacle Illusion is about removing secrets from our daily lives. What would it be like if a stranger knew all your secrets? How would that effect your relationship with them, with anyone? As the story expands how would politicians and governments change when they could no longerhide behind mistruth or outright lie or spy on other countries? How would Coca-Cola respond once the secret formula to Coke were common knowledge?

I am writing a Young Adult Novel about an extremely observant girl named Claire, and she, literately, runs into a boy named Josh who somehow has the key to her most personal possession.
The novel goes on to be filled with sassy friendships, teenage rebellion, detective work, a hint of romance, and more secrets than either thought would be possible to keep.

My novel is mostly a series of episodes set along a trade/pilgrim route during a time of great upheaval. We'll see if an overall story arc develops in there somewhere.

The years after retirement hadn't helped his relations, either. The only heroes he was able to get don't trust him, not that he trust them either. Can they all stick around long enough to defeat the city's new threat?
I am gonna write some wurds about sumthin.
Ok.
Three Little Emperors

Painting Lessons
Yay FanFiction is so much fun :)
My book title is Death's Apprentice. It explores what would happen when death decides she wants a break from collecting souls.
Wow! Love it!
Sigh. It was I. My summary went through several iterations, and unfortunately, NaNo doesn't delete the deletions themselves.
Nobody else's posts should have been deleted, as I don't have it within my powers to do that.
Yay! The Graph is back.

Suppose a middle aged father had his young daughter taken from him

was for the service of the society.
Suppose this was the year 2299 and the world had been destroyed by
Armageddon and only patches of societies remained, no longer in
control of past technology, but slowly rediscovering the powerful
magic that had caused that Armageddon centuries ago.

I have no novel title yet. But my novel is about people who develop magical powers. That's about all I have so far this year...

The novel goes on to be filled with sassy friendships, teenage rebellion, detective work, a hint of romance, and more secrets than either thought would be possible to keep.
