KatherineWriting wrote:Editing this: Since this thread has become about the all day write-in, I changed the title and am adding a bit of information to this post.
It's at the Naperville Municipal Center (lower level, rooms BC) from 9am-9pm. Please park on the upper level parking deck; do NOT park in the underground parking garage.
People are welcome to come for an hour or two at any point during the day. But I'm hoping at least a few people can do all day, since I think it could be awesome, and very productive. We'll figure out something for food. (Maybe sandwiches for lunch, and something hot for dinner.)
It will be possible for people to opt-out of any activitiesin case anyone does want to focus, focus, focus. But I planned on having the opportunity tobreak at least once an hour for abit of talking, or walking around and stretching, or eating, or hot coffee or tea.
Oh, and there will be word war prizes.

Is there an all day progressive write-in happening this year? If so can anyone point me in the right direction for the into? Thanks!
The one on the 14th is what I was thinking of. I thought it was progressive but figured out I was wrong. Not an uncommon thing as of late. My brain is so scattered. Thanks!
While it's not a progressive write-in, I do plan on doing things to make it more than just sitting and typing for 12 hours. Even I can't do that. :)

I'll probably also have suggestions if people want them for something to incorporate periodically. Something like, 'do a Google search on the last sentence you wrote' and incorporate something from the top-ten hits into your next scene. Or using Brian's Nanostorm,http://nanowrimo.org/forums/usa-illinois-naperville/threads/172393, or ...
Cass and I will both be at the all-day write-in. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be bringing a super comfy blanket to wrap myself in as well as a mug for tea. Maybe fuzzy slippers. We'll see. I just know I get cold all the time if I'm sitting in one spot, so I'm going to try to keep warm. I may build myself a blanket fort. Everyone loves blanket forts.
I could also bring my electric kettle for endless hot water so I can make endless tea for myself all day. I'm not sure if I'll be able to have tea to share (I have a lot of loose-leaf and only one tea ball) but anyone that requires hot water can reap the benefits of the kettle.

Sounds marvelous! The tea kettle (I'll bring a bunch of tea), and blanket forts, and your company. And there's a David's Tea that is only half a mile away. Maybe we can take a break at some point and go smell some tea (and incorporate that into our writing.)
I should be there in the morning/early afternoon for a while. I have a rehearsal that night, but I'll bring lots of tea that I got 'cause it looked good but didn't love enough to finish the box of tea bags and should really use up before I get more tea...
I'll have to work in the evening, but I'll definitely be there in the morning! Sounds like a great opportunity to make some serious progress. Thanks for organizing this, Katherine.

Gah and of course I just found it! Ignore me!!!!
Sorry.
Wait--what did you find?
We do have an all-day write-in (one location), Friday, November 14th, 9AM-9PM at the Naperville Municipal Center (Katherine L. is organizing this).
I haven't yet heard of an all-day progressive write-in being planned. Do check the calendar of events (http://naperwrimo.org/events)...

I'm so disappointed I'm going to be out of town and missing this. Sounds like a great experience.
I've secured the day!

Of course it's on my son's birthday. Hopefully I will be able to show up for a little bit.

I plan to be there after work (around 5 pm)
I'm actually off this day so I will be trying my best to make it for sure. Maybe not be there so early but hey I can do the all day writing thing XD
This all-day write-in sounds like a great idea! Put me down for it. I'll probably show up sometime after noon.
P.S. - Have laptop, will write!!

I am totally interested in doing this, but will be in and out a bit to attend class.
I *might* be able to swing this. I'll know if I can squeeze out of work pretty much the Thursday right before this.
I hope I can make it to this. It sounds like fun. Please don't let it rain or snow on that day. :)
The hot water would help with the hot chocolate mix I have and I know I'll have some sort of tea (trying to figure out which ones I like)
I need to use up some vacation time at work... so I've asked for the 14th off. Hello, marathon!
I got the ok to take of the 14th, too. Yay!
