Okay awesome! I hope I can too :)
Yes I can bring cups. I was thinking I could bring some 2-liter pops, cups, and ice.
That would be great, Daniel--thanks!
(Looking sheepish) Duly noted!
This is my tentative RSVP. If I do make it, I will be bringing either little tuna salad sandwiches or some type of dip or a salad. Oh, and maybe a guest too (one of them will not be stuffed).
Apologies for the indecision. I still have to run to the store and that will decide what I'm bringing. :)
I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions. ~James Michener
Hi, I'll be there, bringing my daughter who is the food aficionado - we'll look at the list and find something appropriate!
Hi Tim,
Sorry that I can't make the party as it's my chemo weekend. I'm staying in for the weekend and resting.
Martha
Hmm. If I can get my friend's basil tomato tea sandwich recipe, I'll bring those. Otherwise, cucumber sandwiches. :)
I may be bringing more people than previously suggested. My friend's daughter says she wants to try out NaNo again, this year, and, while I told her to join the group, I don't know whether she has yet or not. I also have another friend who is interested in NaNo, but she may be busy tomorrow. And my daughter and/or husband may be tagging along. :P
This is all assuming that I feel up to coming. I'm pregnant and this kid is wearing me out.
Do not be satisfied with the stories that come before you. Unfold your own myth. Rumi
Sorry to hear that, Martha--we'll definitely be thinking of you.

Looks like we will have 28 people definitely and possibly up to another 22 (for a total of 50).
Note: if you are reading this tomorrow and want to come: come ahead--I'm sure we'll have plenty of food (and you can bring something tomorrow too).
RSVP's help us plan and will be eligible for the drawing for the poster but we will not turn folks who didn't RSVP away. :-)
Don't forget to bring something to write with (pen) and your favorite stuffed animal for the group photo!
Sorry I won't be there this year. I hope to make it to some write-ins and the final celebration. Good luck everyone!
I'm going to have to bring a veggie trey instead. Long story. Stupid health stuff. :( But i'll be there!
Blerghblarghblargh. Trying to think of something to bring!
I'm leading a meeting first thing tomorrow morning so I won't have much cooking time before we have to get to the kickoff. I'll think of something!
There is an 80% chance that I will be bringing chips and homemade guacamole.
OH um I might come. If I'm feeling awake.
Pop maybe...very very maybe.
Hi! J3n here (more like Johnny Come Lately, RSVPing on the day of!). I may be coming, and if so, I'd bring a veggie platter or some crackers and cheese.
I've been debating coming because I have so much outlining to do! But missing out on a supportive group activity might be just as detrimental to progress as missing a couple hours of outlining.
Jen
Jen, there are still 2+ days before NaNo starts... I also do not have my outline fully done. But the community is definitely one of the available supports for writers and can be a big boost later in November. I encourage you to come out.
Cheers,
--Tim
I am coming. Betterto reply later than never. I am bringing pop and ice.
I will come and bring fruit.
Writing Exercise we did at the kick-off.
If you missed it, grab a couple of friends and try it. If you did this at the kick-off, have you added anything to your outline as a result?
Character quirks - Each person writes down a one line summary of a character on a card. It doesn't have to be the main character for your novel, but it should be someone in the novel.
Pass the card to your right. Add a character quirk can be the way she talks, something he carries, a hidden passion, favorite food, what her father thinks of her, best friend is a... These quirks don't have to be consistent, but they can be.
Once done, pass the card to your right. When you get your own card back, read them out loud, maybe brainstorm about things you can use for your novel.
