I think most people are aware that there is a movie coming out this holiday season that is based on the popular musical Les Miserables. As the very first Journey social outing, some of us are planning to go see Les Miserables on the afternoon of January 6th (Meeting at 2:30 PM at Cinemark at Seven Bridges in Woodridge to go to the 3:30 PM showing), with an early dinner to follow at the Superossa in Woodridge.
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
is there a world you long to see?
Do you hear the people sing?
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring
when tomorrow comes!

... and in browsing the many little trailers and clips related to this wonderful musical, I stumbled upon this youtube treat: a spontaneous "flashmob" Les Miserables "One Day More" song at a wedding reception. I confess, a part of me would be tickled to be a part of something like that--with Les Miserables breaking out at Rock Bottom after the movie...
Well, it's a neat thought :-)
I'm in
I will likely be there~
I will be there so long as it's after about 3PM (in case of work)! :)
Work on a Sunday afternoon??
...
Oh hey it's on a Sunday. I am terrible at days and thought it was Saturday!
Nix that last comment of mine then. ;)
Hi Tim, thanks to you or whomever for organizing. I'm in, but I will pass on the Flash Mob, you would not want to see my rendition
:-).
Thanks.
Sign me up for the movie outgoing! I got the day off ^.^
I'm willing to flashmob sing...though you all may go deaf from hearing me! :D
How many days ahead does Regal usually post their showtime listings? I checked tonight since the get-together is only a week off now, but there was nothing.
Once we pick a time, ideally we should all meet at the theater about an hour prior (to give people time to get there) so that we can all find seats together in good spots.
I think it is about a week ahead. I'm also looking at Cinemark Seven Bridges (theoretically we could do Clara's Pasta for dinner if we go see the movie out there) but they aren't showing anything for Sunday, January 6th (yet).
I agree that we should meet an hour ahead--should be plenty of time to get tickets and good seats together.

I WANT TO GO.
But I need to know where and when it'll be. Because it depends on if I'll be able to make it or not.
I would have to call to make sure they're still accepting them but...
If we do Cinemark Seven Bridges, they were accepting the Hollywood Palms/BLVD 'Buy One, Get One Free' coupons and I have two of them which are good for up to four tickets free each. They are valid Sundays and since the movie has been out for a bit they're valid.
If we go to that theater, just let me know! ^^
Looks like there are no showtimes for Sunday for Cinemark Seven Bridges (at least not yet); showtimes have posted for Sunday afternoon at Regal Cantera 17 in Warrenville: looks like 2:20 pm or 3 pm are the afternoon showtimes.
I would suggest 3 pm.

Can't make it now. I have a rehearsal for a gig from 3-6:30 in the city :(
That's sad; do you want us to reschedule the outing to the 13th or 20th?
I am free the 13th, but I don't want to cause someone else not to be able to go because it's moved. Plus I've seen it once already ;)
Enjoy!
Count me in - I thought I'd see it over the holidays, but I never made it.
Cinemark Seven Bridges (the one India has coupons for) posted their schedule up for Les Mis. Their afternoon showings are 12:00pm, 1:45pm, and 3:30pm.
Which theater are we going to and at which times?
What is your preference? 3 PM showing (meet 2 PM) at Cantera? or 3:30 PM showing (meet 2:30 pm) at Cinemark? Everyone should vote. Rock Bottom or Clara's?
The theaters are close to me, so it doesn't matter which. I did call Cinemark and they are still accepting the Buy One, Get One coupon. It's good for up to four free tickets. We'd all have to be present when buying, is the only thing
I can't eat anything at Clara's and Rock Bottom isn't my favorite place, so I'm neutral with food.
Oh, is it okay if I bring I friend? She hasn't seen Le Mis. If not, I understand ^^.
