Came across this while looking for ideas for the kick-off. Decided not to do it since I fear Tim's Nano-bots would crush these paper creatures, but thought I'd share the link here.

Does anyone have other neat things that we can use to do in preparation for November?

Actually, the nanobots are quite gentle (I've carefully folded the ends of their pipe-cleaner hands) except for the one nano-Dalek; and I've been practicing making this style of paper-folded plot bunny and was thinking of using these for the prizes for the box of doom (since everyone who completes their Box of Doom challenge wins a prize, which can deplete my prize chest pretty rapidly).

obDefinition: a plot bunny is a nifty plot twist that is so adorable that you feel compelled to stick it into your novel. But be careful because plot bunnies can multiply until they take over your novel...

So I've been loving origami lately (hence my origami lillies that ya'll saw before at one of those meetings.) And so I was like, hey! I want to find some origami plot bunnies to make... and then I got distracted. AND DEAR ME. I FOUND ORIGAMI SQUID PATTERNS.

I'm rather busy this afternoon... and this week. But I'm going to try my hand at making some origami plot critters. And maybe when I host a write-in or two I can actually have word war prizes! Huzzah!

What's a box of doom? It looks neat, and most of all CRAFTY! Any more details for this newbie? :)

Its a box with colored sticks in it. Each cookie correlates to a difficulty level. And on each stick is a word count. So when we do a word war you attempt to pass the word count that's on the stick you choose. (:

Then the box is appropriately named! o.o Thanks!

I'm going to do a little more searching on how word wars work.
